I have been on the water around Venice for more than 25 years. I started offshore, running trips out of the Mississippi River Delta, and I still do. A few years ago I started spending more time inshore, in the marsh behind the river, because it is a different kind of fishing: shallower, quieter, and a lot easier for someone new to enjoy. How I Run a Trip
The Blackjack is a 25-foot boat built for shallow water. I drive it, I pick the spots, and I clean the fish at the end. When you book an inshore trip, it is me.
I am not going to promise you a limit. The river, the wind, and the season decide a lot, and I would rather tell you what I am seeing that morning than sell you a fantasy. What I will do is fish hard, explain what we are doing, and keep the day fun for everyone on the boat.
I am a licensed and insured guide, and everything you need for the day is on the boat.
